Spell check, its languages, and your own word lists.

Mnemo has its own spell checker with bundled dictionaries, a personal word list, and per-note language settings.

Turning it on and choosing languages

Spelling has its own page in Settings under Application. Spell check turns checking on or off.

Languages you write in is an ordered list. A word is correct if any listed language knows it, and the first language's suggestions are offered first, so put the language you write most at the top. Add a language opens the list of available languages.

Two dictionaries ship with Mnemo: English (United States), on by default, and Spanish (Spain). No other dictionaries can be downloaded; the Not available group lists languages Mnemo knows about but cannot check.

Fixing a flagged word

A flagged word is underlined. Click it, right-click it, or place the caret inside it and press Alt+Enter to open the suggestion card, which offers replacements plus Add to dictionary and Ignore in this note.

Languages per note

A note's menu has a Spelling submenu. Use my defaults follows the list in Settings, including later changes. Ticking specific languages pins the note to that set. Don't check this note turns checking off for that note. The submenu also holds Words ignored here and a shortcut to Spelling settings.

Your dictionary and ignored words

Your dictionary on the Spelling settings page holds every word you have added. Manage opens the full list. Each word applies to all languages unless you narrow it with Applies to in the word's menu. Words added from the suggestion card apply to all languages.

Ignore in this note only affects that note. Words ignored here in the note's Spelling submenu lists them, and removing one can be undone from the message that follows.
